Extended Family & Reunion Photography

Indi Families is the family and maternity studio of The Indi Collective. Some sessions happen because everyone is finally together at the same time — grandparents flying in, cousins reuniting, three generations in one frame. We build these bigger sessions around logistics as much as light: getting fifteen people fed, photographed and home before nap time.

Planning a multi-generational session

We start with a short call to map out who’s coming, ages, and any mobility needs, then build a shot list that gets the full group photo done first, while everyone is still patient, before breaking into smaller family units and pairs. Extended sessions typically run 90 minutes to two hours.

Best locations for large groups

Wide, open coastal bluffs and beach access points work best for groups of ten or more — enough space to spread out, enough shade for the youngest and oldest guests. We scout parking and walking distance in advance so nobody is hauling folding chairs a half mile.

What you walk away with

A full group portrait, individual family-unit portraits, grandparent-and-grandchild pairings, and candid coverage of the day, delivered as one shared online gallery so every family member can download their own favorites.

We regularly shoot groups of 15 to 25 across three generations; larger family reunions are available on request.
