Indi Families is the family and maternity studio of The Indi Collective. Same photographers, same coastal light, turned toward the people who are just getting started. We photograph maternity, newborn, milestone and extended family sessions across Los Angeles, the South Bay, Palos Verdes and Orange County.

Maternity photography in Los Angeles

Coastal bluffs, golden hillsides and marine layer fog. Our maternity sessions are unhurried and mostly unposed: we walk, you talk to each other, and we photograph what actually happens. The best booking window is 30 to 36 weeks, when you are visibly pregnant and still comfortable on your feet. Flowing gowns, partners, older siblings and dogs are all welcome, and we will send an outfit guide before the shoot.

Newborn and baby photography

Newborn sessions happen in your home in the first two to three weeks, in whatever natural light the room gives us. No props, no backdrops, no posed baskets. Feeding breaks and grandparents are part of the plan.

Family and milestone sessions

Annual family portraits, first birthdays, and big extended family sessions when everyone is finally in the same city. These are built around children who will not sit still, which is the entire point.

Where we photograph

Indi Families works across greater Los Angeles and Orange County: Palos Verdes Estates, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Long Beach, Santa Monica, Malibu, Pasadena, Los Angeles, Laguna Beach and Newport Beach. Most sessions are on the coast, an hour before sunset.
